Deflation, disappointment, and a feeling of dread.
That is how I started to feel on Sunday with the news from Mount Pearl Senior High.
This week, as I listened to Premier Furey, Dr. Haggie, and Dr. Fitzgerald, it started to sink in.
Last March, we had a busy weekend, and then the tap was turned off and we went from having laughing children and families in our facility to nothing but pink flamingos and wacky wavy men rentals, Proshop sales, Sodastream, and Beer CO2 for almost 4 months.
I fear that is the precipice we are looking over this week but I am hoping for the best while preparing for the worst. I have been in contact with public health and they have indicated that we are not covered by the public health order yesterday but out of an abundance of caution for our customers, staff, and our community we are making the following changes to our operations.
We are moving our operation to Proshop and bubble mode only.
This means we are offering:
* Proshop Open 12PM - 5PM every day (Monday to Sunday)
* Sodastream and beer Co2 filling (in person and available for curbside pickup)
* Activities at our outdoor facility are limited to group sizes of 10 people and pizza and drink portion are no longer permitted
Anybody who has any questions, needs after-hours service, would like to reschedule, postpone or cancel their parties may do so by calling 709-747-4653 anytime, 7 days.
I want to assure you that the measures that we took back in March, and continue to take, have guaranteed our ability to weather the upcoming challenges financially. We will be here every day ready to serve you safely.
This is a fluid situation that we are monitoring closely and I will update you as our situation changes.
To all my fellow business owners, students, families, and others affected by the ongoing pandemic. I want you to know you are not alone. We will get through this. It may be difficult but let's redouble our efforts to protect each other. Especially the most vulnerable.
As Dr.Fitzgerald keeps saying “Holdfast Newfoundland and Labrador.”
